Mardu Ponza Reanimator

While this might not look like a land destruction deck at first glance, when you Footsteps of the GoryoWoodfall Primus or Ashen Rider into play on turn three to blow up two of your opponent’s lands you’ll understand. This deck also has a midrange backup plan which allows it to grind a bit on the back of Lingering Souls and simply casting its large threats.

This is a three color deck that is looking to flood the board with a variety of tokens and then close the game out quickly by making them larger. Nissa, Voice of ZendikarGideon, Ally of Zendikar, and Sorin, Solemn Visitor both serve the dual purpose of creating bodies to power up, as well as acting as a method of powering them up. We make sure we live long enough to play our more expensive threats, by playing mana creatures and efficient disruption like Path to Exile and Thoughtseize.

Efficient removal like Fatal Push and Lightning Bolt allow us to keep the board in check, while cards like Collective Brutality and Countersquall allow us to interact with spell based combo decks.

Our eventual combo is Nahiri, the Harbinger ticking up to eight and then ultimating to find Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. Nahiri offers powerful flexibility in a deck like this. She enables us to filter through cards we draw that might not line up well against our opponent, while also serving as additional removal with her down tick.
