Jeskai Thing Ascension

If you like killing all of your opponent’s creature with efficient removal, but are not a fan of Jeksai Control’s inability to close out a game, this is likely the deck for you. Playing more card selection than any other deck in Modern, Jeskai Thing Ascension is looking to quickly find Thing in the Ice or Pyromancer Ascension to start getting even more value off of our cheap spells.

If you would like some sideboarding tips with this deck, you can read my article about it on CoolStuff Inc here.

Humans

This is one of the best decks in Modern. It combines disruptive elements from cards like Kitesail Freebooter and Meddling Mage, along with the fast clock that Mantis Rider and Thalia’s Lieutenant provide to give itself a chance in most matches. The last thing humans was really missing was a source of card advantage, and with M19 it now has this in the form of Militia Bugler.

You can read a bit about this history of this deck on CSI here as well as check out a primer after my run at SCG Indy here.
